Outdoor Pool

Equipment - outdoor pools

Climate conditions in the UK mean that most outdoor pools require a heating solution.

An effective means of heating your outdoor pool allows you to swim in greater comfort and extends the swimming season.

We will help you determine which of the following heating solutions is most suited to your particular circumstances.

Dedicated pool boiler

Dedicated pool boilers can be oil or gas-fired (natural or LPG) and are simple to operate and maintain, offering a neat heating solution. They are usually sited in or adjacent to the pool plant room.

Household boiler

Extending supplies from a central heating boiler to a simple heat exchanger connected to the pool water circuit is an option if your domestic boiler has surplus heating capacity and is suitably located in relation to the pool plant.

Heat pump

Heat pumps are ideally suited to provide clean and economical pool heating.

They operate by using the same principle as the household fridge or an air conditioning system, except in reverse.

Air is drawn into the heat pump and is cooled. The heat extracted from the air is then upgraded by the refrigeration compressor and transferred to the pool water.

Typically, the heat pump can extract up to 4 times the amount of energy it uses.

Electric heater

Electric heaters are particularly well suited to provide an economical heating solution using the Economy 7 electricity tariff.

Solar heating

In the UK, solar heating is usually used as a supplement to the main heater. As environmental concerns increase and solar technology advances, we believe solar power will become an increasingly popular heating method in the near future.

Pool Covers

A heat retaining pool cover will dramatically reduce the heat loss from the pool and resultant running costs.
