With the increasing number of ageing pools in the UK, Aqua Services offer a full refurbishment and repair service to suit the clients needs, enabling the pool and the pool area to be brought back to ‘as new’ condition
Re-lining
The typical lifespan of a domestic liner is 10 years. During replacement, we will inspect the pool shell and advise on any repairs that may be required. We will also pressure test the pipework, to ensure no nasty surprises spring up just after the fitting of a new liner.
Tile-band repairs
Pool refurbishment
It is not uncommon for the tile-band at the top of the pool walls to become loose. Usually frost is the cause of this.
The common remedy is to uplift and re-bed the coping stones using proprietary bonding agents.
The tile-band and sand/cement render is removed and replaced.
Structural repairs
Where a concrete pool shell shows signs of movement or cracking, it can be repaired, but usually at a very high cost due to the complexity and the nature of the work involved.
In many cases, an effective alternative is to line the shell with a heavy duty vinyl lining system. This has the benefit of being flexible and therefore can tolerate some structural movement, in addition to providing a smooth, easy to clean finish.
This system is also suitable for commercial and hydrotherapy pools.
Pool surround
The problem with many old pools is that the pool surround has sunk in places and the condition of the paving slabs has deteriorated. A new solid concrete base, along with the large variety of paving available, can give the whole pool area a completely new look, built to last.
Equipment and pipe-work
Where necessary, it may be beneficial to re-pipe the pool in it’s entirety thereby minimising the re-occurrence of leaks in various locations of the ageing pipe-work.
In addition, it is sometimes worth considering completely replacing the old plant and equipment to achieve a reliable, easier to manage pool.
