A well - designed pool surround can considerably enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the pool, as well as making the whole area more functional by ensuring sufficient space for sun loungers or outdoor dining for example.

Retaining walls for privacy or wind protection, raised flowerbeds etc., are factors worth considering during the initial design stages.
