Manual covers provide a cheaper alternative to automatic covers. They are designed to be pulled on and off the pool by hand.

Foam Covers

Foam covers are usually manufactured from a 5mm or 8mm thick, closed cell foam sandwich. This is very durable and has excellent heat retaining properties.

They are commonly used on Spa baths, indoor pools and commercial pools.

Solar Covers

Whilst the foam covers have excellent heat retaining properties, they do not allow the pool to benefit from the heat provided by the suns rays. Whilst being cheaper and less durable than the foam cover, a solar cover permits a certain amount of solar gain as well as reducing the heat loss and evaporation from the pools surface. These are available in a number of thicknesses to suit budget and application.

Rollers

A roller will make handling the cover significantly easier. It is usually sited at one end of the pool and enables the cover to be applied by one person. Furthermore, the covers life is extended as any abrasion on the paving or coping is kept to the minimum.

Winter debris Covers

At the end of the season, after the pool has been closed down and pipe work and equipment drained, we recommend the fitting of a winter debris cover. This covers the whole pool and surround, keeping dirt, debris and small animals out and therefore making it easier to re-commission the pool in the spring.
